Harry White (1944–2022) was one of the most naturally gifted and “cool-headed” jockeys in the history of Australian racing. Best known for his unmatched judgment of pace and his record-equalling four Melbourne Cup victories, he became a symbol of calm precision at Flemington.

  • Born in Melbourne, Victoria. He was the son of a jockey who won the 1943 Caulfield Cup.

  • Achieved his first professional win at Flemington Racecourse in the Braybrook Handicap.
